Renovation of Hadley's Hotel
One of Hobart’s most iconic hotels is gearing up for its grand reopening ahead of the lifting of the state’s border restrictions.
Like many of the state’s hotels, Hadley’s Orient Hotel was closed during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, CEO Ben Targett said they were excited for guests to experience the “reimagined” Hadley’s after they used the downtime to undertake some renovations.
“We’ve been closed for the first time in 185 years so that’s been a bit sad, but we’re gearing up to open on July 1 and we’re really excited about it,” he said.
“We were closed for nearly three months, and during that time we spent a lot of that cleaning and making sure the property was maintained.
“Hadley’s over many years has been a place where Tassie people have always come and enjoyed themselves, let their hair down, so for us it’s an opportunity to re-engage with Tasmanian people,” he said.
“There are lots of people who’ve got a Hadley’s story, and we’d like to make some more.”
